I was born in 1943 along with my twin Percy in Kindersley Union Hospital. Our family lived in Alsask from 1938 to the end of June 1959 when my dad was transferred by the Royal Bank to Aneroid Saskatchewan where he started his career with them back in the early 20! s.We the five siblings Gary,Barb,Percy.Me and sister Janet all attended Alsask public school.Gary was with the first bunch to attend Westcliffe and was involved with the BREEZE.Barb was also active on the yearbook and chasing boys.Percy and I were involved with all sorts of sports.Hockey,Baseball,Swimming,

I was fortunate to be with a good bunch of guys at Westcliffe and be part of two Championship teams in 1958.The boys two hand touch football team won the West Central Saskatchewan High School Association Championship over Plenty Sask. 31-29.Phil Stevenson was our Quarterback and we were leading 31-27 with about a minute to go and we had third down,He asked the Referee if we ran the ball back and gave up two points do we get possession again. So Phil handed off to Frank Kaminski he ran back to our endzone gave up the two points.WE then used up the clock and won the game 31-29.I remember going into the endzone for a couple converts as frank was not to reliable on his converts

The baseball team won a championship also that year mainly due to the great pitching arm of Richard Millar from Alsask.I also remember one lunch break a bunch of us were in the class room using chalk and the Black board protractor and playing ball hitting the chalk around the roomBut who walked in with some visitors but Cliff Allen. We had to spend the next few days writing a 500 word essay why we shoudn!t damage school property.I really enjoyed my two years there and made a lot of new friends from the other towns.
